| Seventh annual Eastside Culture Crawl continues despite cold | In addition to writing the article, I was responsible for laying out the page for the story. The challenge was trying to balance a news feature story accompanied by a mini photo story. I felt photos were important because it was an arts story. [227 KB PDF file]. |
| Success is in the can for downtown charity | The challenge with this page layout was the lack of photos with people in it. There was a moral choice involved, whether to 'exploit' the image of a poor person to benefit the story. In the end, I chose to respect the people's wish to not have their photos included in the story. [238 KB PDF file]. |
| NDP Convention high on expectations | The challenge with this page was to tell a relevant story of the NDP convention with the right balance of focus and event background. Originally, I had planned to tell the story of the leadership race itself, but because of space limitations, I changed the focus to the emotional buildup towards Carole James' eventual win. | Product Brochure for Food Marketers International [Salmon Burgers] | This was a brochure created for FMI Food Marketers International for use as promotional material for their Salmon Burger product at international food product fairs. It was aimed to complement the packaging of the product itself. A similar brochure was created for FMI's shrimp burger patties. |
| Earth Charter Introductory Brochure | This was a brochure created as promotional material for SGI Canada on the Earth Charter. The brochure has been used across Canada, most recently in Winnipeg at an Earth Charter exhibition, and at a multi-faith environment conference organized by the MultiFaith Action Society of British Columbia. |
